Pennsylvania H.S. Basketball Coach Erupts After Foul Call And Drops Ref With A Brutal Headbutt (VIDEO)

Pennsylvania high school basketball coach, Neshaminy’s Jerry Devine — who is also a special ed teacher at the school — momentarily lost his shit during a game against Pennsbury on Tuesday night when a basket was waived off after his player was called for a charge. Devine immediately came onto the floor to argue the call and ended up brutally head-butting a referee to the floor.

Here’s a much better look at the sequence of events:

The ref who took the spill wasn’t even the guy who called the foul. GET YOUR ENEMIES RIGHT, Jerry.

The waived-off basket apparently would’ve have made it a three-point game with less than 30 seconds to play.

Devine, who was obviously ejected from the game, can expect a lengthy suspension at the very least, as soon as this afternoon I would imagine, unless Neshaminy’s school board wants to hear about this incident all day, every day until a decision is made.

*****UPDATE*****

Devine has been placed on “administrative leave.” Here’s the official statement released by the Neshaminy School District:

“Mr. Devine has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of that review for both his teaching and coaching positions. The athletic program at Neshaminy places the values of fair play and sportsmanlike conduct above all. We expect our coaches and staff to teach and uphold those principles, while acting in a professional manner at all times.”
