Oakland A’s Catcher Hilariously Imitates Chris Farley’s ‘Motivational Speaker, Matt Foley’ Skit

Stephen Vogt is a pretty damn good catcher (no lie, the Oakland A’s dish man was CLUTCH down the line for my fantasy baseball team last season). He’s also a renowned funny man in the MLB ranks, and shows off some of his antics every chance he gets when dealing with the media.

Appearing recently on Intentional Talk on the MLB Network with Hosts Chris Rose and Kevin Millar, Vogt pulled out all the stops to pay tribute to comedic legend Chris Farley. The Oakland Athletic channeled one of Farley’s best known SNL gigs, “motivational speaker” Matt Foley.

The skit came after a short introductory feature rehashing Vogt’s last time on the show, when he impersonated an NBA referee.

Well done, sir. Well done indeed. Maybe they should tap Stephen Vogt for some late addition B-roll to the upcoming Chris Farley documentary. And there’s no way I’m not voting for him to take his talents to the the 2015 MLB All-Star Game either.

#VOTE4VOGT! Tell me that’s not meant to be. Let’s make this happen, people.
