The Oakland Raiders Are Reportedly Trying To Sign Marshawn Lynch And This SO Needs To Happen

To me, Marshawn Lynch was born to wear the silver and black of the Oakland Raiders. If for no other reason than the fact that he is from Oakland and played high school football there. Plus, he just seems like a Raider.

He would be a perfect fit now that Latavius Murray has moved on and signed with the Vikings. Lynch, even at age 31, would be rather fresh after sitting out two seasons. Seattle just signed Eddie Lacy so they really don’t need Lynch so they could get something in return for his rights.

It’s almost too perfect.

More than one report has stated that the Raiders are seriously looking into it.

Greg Papa, the Raiders’ broadcaster for the last 21 seasons, even strongly hinted at it on his radio show, reports the Mercury-News

Raiders broadcaster Greg Papa teased Raiders fans a bit Thursday with an implication about a potential upcoming move by the team.

“They are talking to a certain running back,” Papa said at the end of his “Afternoon Delight” show on 95.7 The Game. “I’ll have to hold this for tomorrow.”

Co-host Bonta Hill said “Uh oh” and it’s easy to imagine him writing the letters “AP” on a piece of paper to show Papa.

“No, no, no, no, no, not any of the people you are thinking about,” Papa said.

That sounds like it ruled out Adrian Peterson, who has shown interest in the Raiders but has otherwise not been linked to the team.

Papa’s next comment was a clue that leads to Oakland native Marshawn Lynch.

“He did not even play in the NFL last year,” Papa said. “I’ll leave it there. Chew on that.”

Surely he isn’t referring to Ray Rice or Fred Jackson, right?

Lynch appears to be having a very good time in retirement, and has said repeatedly he’s done playing, but with the Raiders? In Oakland? Could that be the carrot that brings him back?
