Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask was minding his own business, respectfully observing the National Anthem in Detroit last night when some savage threw an octopus at him. Judging by the trajectory, he (or she) was seated a good distance from the rink.
The Red Wings’ octopus-tossing tradition is one of the best in sports, but this type of inter-species violence has no place in the game.
As it turned out, it was Rask’s most challenging moment of the night as he went on to stonewall every Detroit shot in a crucial 3-0 Bruins victory.
