Oregon Runner Celebrates Win WAY Too Early, Gets Embarrassed

If you’re a collegiate runner, you have to either do something pretty spectacular or spectacularly dumb to become internet famous.

Unfortunately for Oregon’s Tanguy  Pepiot, he did the latter.

Thinking he’d cruise to victory during this weekend’s Pepsi Invitational, he tried to hype up the crowd as he slowly savored the last bit of his run.

What he didn’t know was that Washington’s Meron Simon was coming up quickly from behind.

Well, that sucks.

It’s another reason to never run. And if you must–and it’s a goddamn race–then run until well after the finish line.

There will be plenty of time for showboating after the fact.
