While the entire state of Wisconsin may be known for their love of cheese, don’t underestimate the stranglehold that lots and lots of meat has on the residents who live there, too, because sausage, bacon and any other pork-related food is something just as beloved.
And because the Green Bay Packers are fucking amazing at taking care of their fans’ wants and needs, the team has decided to open a concession stand that’s made of everyone’s favorite pork item—BACON!
Per ESPN:
Weller’s announcement that the Packers are opening a bacon-centric concession stand at Lambeau Field — called the Patrick Cudahy Packhouse, with construction beginning this week — may have received the biggest cheer of the day.
“I didn’t realize that Patrick Cudahy would get quite the ovation,” Murphy said with a chuckle after the meeting adjourned. “It’s a credit, I guess, to the tastes of Wisconsinites.”
Among the menu items will be “The Pigskin,” a bacon-wrapped baked potato topped with chili, chopped bacon, cheddar cheese, sour cream and chives, and bacon-crusted cheese curds served with a side of bacon-ranch dressing. More menu items, created in conjunction with the team’s food service provider, Delaware North, will be announced later.
The concession stand springs from a partnership with Patrick Cudahy, which is “the official bacon of the Green Bay Packers and Lambeau Field.” (How many other NFL teams have an official bacon?) The company, which was founded in 1888, is based in the Milwaukee suburb of Cudahy, named for the company’s founder.
That’s right, guys, Lambeau Field will have more hogs to choose from than any other NFL stadium.
After the announcement of the all-bacon food stand, the team released the menu for the place, per FOX Sports, which includes a bacon burger with bacon baked into the bun because, shit, why the hell not?
As if watching a game from The Frozen Tundra inside Lambeau wasn’t already on every football fans’ buckets list, this happens and makes it an absolute must-do because, bacon!
