Meet the Real-Life Version of Happy Gilmore Who Can SMASH Drives Nearly 450 Yards

Jamie Sadlowski didn’t get his start in golf from making bets with movers that he could hit a house 400 yards away with a powerful drive. But Jamie was a hockey player who could pulverize the puck, and his tremendous swing translated into ginormous drives on the golf course.

“The only difference between me and Happy Gilmore is that I skate a whole lot better than he can,” boasts Sadloski. “I mean I remember watching Happy Gilmore when I was a kid and I’m like, ‘Man, that guy just hit it 400 yards, there’s no f’ing way a guy could do that.'”

Since Jamie was 2-years-old he was skating on the ice, and he played hockey all throughout his life. “In everything I’ve ever done, my main focus was to shoot it as hard as I can, throw it as hard as I can,” Jamie said. “I remember denting goalies’ masks.” But in the short Canadian summer, he would play golf, and he went hard. By the time he was 14-years-old, Jamie smashed it 370 yards.

Sadlowski won the 2008 World Long Drive Championship and the jackpot of $250,000. Sadlowski went on to win the 2009 World Long Drive Championship as well.

Now he makes his living by wowing crowds with his unbelievable drives. His personal record for a long drive is an astounding 445 yards.

While Sadlowski doesn’t have the galloping step-into-it golf swing like Happy Gilmore, he sure drives it like a motherfucker.

It’s all in the hips.

As long as Sadlowski never has to face Bob Barker on the greens, I think he’ll be good.
