24-year-old former first-round pic Blake Swihart is having some issues during Spring training. The young catcher appears to have the yips and is unable to make a basic throw back to the pitcher.

Red Sox manager John Farrell discussed Swihart’s issues with the Boston Herald.
This is something that has just kind of popped up a little bit,” “Has always been a good athlete, a good athletic catcher. Accurate thrower. There’s some technique that he’s working through right now and this isn’t even throwing the ball to second base. It’s just a matter of the transferring, getting the ball back to the pitcher in good shape. We’re working on it right now.
If Swihart doesn’t snap out of it he’s probably not going to make out of Spring training with a roster spot.
