I have seen some terrible calls in my lifetime but nothing comes close to what the refs did to the Jets on Sunday. During today’s Jets-Patriots game, Jets running back Austin Seferian-Jenkins ran into the end zone near the pylon midway through the fourth quarter.
While reviewing the play, the refs felt that Jenkins fumbled the ball and recovered it in the endzone, resulting in a touchback. The Patriots were immediately awarded the football
People were pissed.
#Jets #Pats wait, what???
What in the world was that call against Seferian-Jenkins?— Boomer Esiason (@7BOOMERESIASON) October 15, 2017
That is one of the worst calls I've ever seen in professional sports.
ASJ scored & had possession. Ruled fumble/touchback. Horrible. #Jets

I have written and deleted quite a few tweets since that call. As any of them might get my account suspended. What a disgrace. #Jets

Update: Former VP of NFL officiating Dean Blandino also disagrees with the call.
Former VPs of NFL officiating @MikePereira & @DeanBlandino think that the Jets late TD against the Patriots should have stood as called. pic.twitter.com/aDP6IIGXvg
