Ronda Rousey Honoring Her Marine Corps Ball Promise, Will Attend Tonight Aside Jarrod Haschert

In late August, U.S. Marine Jarrod Haschert went crazy viral with his Facebook video asking Ronda Rousey to be his date to the Marine Corps Ball come December 11. That’s tonight! Luckily for Lance Corporal Haschert, after a few days of thinking it over, the reigning UFC women’s world champion at the time said “Yes!” and the internet lost its collective mind.

But, as we all know, the past month has been especially tough for Ronda Rousey. Following her first career defeat to the feet of Holly Holm at UFC190, and with it, a lost title belt that many thought would never leave Rousey’s possession until she retired, the former world champ has been pretty absentee from the spotlight as of late and understandably so. Alas, is she still planning on attending the Marine Corps Ball after all of that!?

A week ago, the Lance Corporal even took to Facebook to say that even he had not heard from Ronda after her loss about making any more plans for the upcoming engagement. As you can imagine, not knowing if you really do have a date until the last minute has to be incredibly nerve-racking. But Haschert had faith everything would fall into place.

And apparently it has.

TMZ caught up with Ronda Rousey early this morning and she confirmed for herself that Jarrod Haschert will indeed have the distinct honor and privilege of taking her to the Marine Corps Ball this year. Semper Fi to that!

Ronda explained to whatever reporter that was hounding her at 4am as she was leaving for the airport that she “promised I would go and it’s an honor to be asked,” despite the fact that she would “probably stay on the couch crying and eating ice cream for like another month” if she didn’t have such a good reason to leave the house.

If there’s ever been a night to start the rebound, Ronda Rousey, I’m going to say the Marine Corps Ball is it! There’s zero doubt in my mind Lance Corporal Haschert will have the most gorgeous date of them all on his arm Friday night. Great stuff to see Ronda Rousey staying true to her word, as well, given her life was basically turned upside-down just a short time ago.

Have a ball tonight, guys!
