NBA Rookie Fulfills Mom’s Wildest Dreams, Surprises Her With A House On Her Birthday

This is one that might make you bust out the tissues, folks. A dream come true for one lucky mother on her birthday, courtesy of her loving sons.

Along with the help of his brother Rahlir, his uncle, and an awesome realtor, Brooklyn Nets rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson gave his mother a present that she will never be able to forget – a new home. The birthday surprise was perfectly orchestrated, and saw Rylanda Hollis understandably moved to tears when told the house she showed up to was now her very own. Truly one of the greatest gifts a child could ever give their parent.

Even cooler, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was able to recall the heartwarming scene as part of the season-long diary feature he’s writing for the New York Post. In his own words, “it was a blessing.”

She said it was her best birthday ever. That’s huge for me and my brother, and my uncle, who is like a brother to us. … That’s big in our eyes, to be able to do that. Being able to change your mom’s life, to be able to put her in a comfortable situation. … It makes that feeling in your heart go to ease.

Instead of worrying about where your mom is going, what she’s doing, it puts you at ease knowing she has a place of her own, and that she has somewhere to lay her head at night. It’s pretty special.

As much of a dream come true as it was for Hollis-Jefferson’s mother, it’s surely a dream come true for the Nets rookie and his brother as well. Awesome stuff, bros.
