There’s A GoFundMe To Help Texas Rangers’ Rougned Odor’s Pay A Probable Fine For Slugging Jose Bautista

Yesterday gave baseball fans one of the most vicious punches an athlete has ever delivered to an opposing player, as Texas Rangers shortstop Rougned Odor decked Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista square in the jaw following a hard slide into second base.

Seemingly payback for that epic batflip that Joey Bats did against Texas in last year’s playoffs, Odor is expected to get a hefty fine and suspension for the punch—and Rangers fans want to help him pay it off, as someone started a GoFundMe page to collect cash for the ballplayer.

Here’s what the description says:

“Rougie should have to pay something, but there’s some value as a spectator to seeing Joey Bats get punched in the face,” Ray wrote. “Happy to throw in a few dollars to send Rougie and the Rangers a message. Fighting isn’t cool, but we appreciate the heart! Especially when it lands squarely on the chin of the biggest cry baby in baseball.”

Hoping to raise $10,000, the campaign was at a paltry $195 that wouldn’t even pay for Odor’s flight to New York to meet with league execs. The creator of the GoFundMe said that any money raised would go towards the Texas Rangers Foundation if Rougned Odor refuses to accept it himself.
