A St. Louis Blues season ticket holder got to live out every diehard fan’s dream last night when the team called him to suit up as their emergency backup goalie. The Blues’ current backup goalie, Carter Hutton, injured himself in the pre-game team skate so they dialed up Tyler Stewart, a vending machine worker.

Tyler is a season ticket holder who played hockey in college and still plays in an adult league. He brings his goalie pads to every Blues home game ‘just in case‘ the team ever needs him.

Well, his dream came true last night when the St. Louis Blues called up Ville Husso, an AHL goalie in San Antonio. Ville Husso tried to get to St. Louis as fast as possible but didn’t arrive at the until late in the first period at which point Tyler Stewart packed up his goalie pads and headed back to his seats on the 300 level (section 313)….And to be honest, this part kind of chaps my ass. You’d think that the team could’ve hooked him up with Suite Level tickets or tickets on the glass after he was sitting on the bench just moments earlier.

Tyler Stewart was able to take warmups with the St. Louis Blues, a team that’s ON FIRE this season. They’re 3rd in points in the NHL only to my team, the Tampa Bay Lightning (+35 goal differential), who leads all teams with 42 points and the L.A. Kings (+28 differential) with 41 points. Getting to skate with a squad as talented as the 2017/2018 Blues is the dream of every amateur hockey fan/player in the world, and this bro got to live that dream last night. Awesome stuff.
