The great thing about being in high school from 2001 – 2005 was how in vogue it was to sit around in your buddy’s basement, playing poker with your friends while listening to O.A.R’s “Crazy Game Of Poker” like a total cliche. People who remember that era of their poker-playing youth are the people who wound up addicted as hell to Poker Stars and all the other online poker tournaments for years. It was good times until everyone was forced to look at themselves in the mirror, tell themselves they’re not Dan Bilzerian, and grow the fuck up.

Anyway, a crazy hand of poker at the World Series of Poker main event caused some tempers to flair. Here’s what happened: William Kassouf mouthed off at the table, which he is infamous for. This caused his opponent, Griffin Benger, to raise him to $5.6 million with pocket aces.

Kassouf went off, via Fox:

“What do you want me to do, do you want me to go all-in or fold? Talk to me. You don’t say anything, I’m going to have to ship you. Play for the win, right? You doing the same?”

And a tense response from Benger:

“You’re just an abusive person, man, it’s not funny. It’s not a game. You’re being abusive. What you’re doing to me, you’re a bully. It’s rude. It’s mean.”

Ouch. But great WSOP drama!

And Wooo! Late ’90s rock!!!! Make me feel young again, O.A.R. and not the sad sack of dad-bod blogging shit that I actually am.
