NO! Tiger Woods Will Not Make His Return At The U.S. Open Next Week

Tiger Woods just isn’t ready to return to golf at a competitive level, you guys. Sad.

The 14-time major winner broke the news to fans on Tuesday evening, and it’s got to be a major disappointment to the crowds set to head to Oakmont next weekend for the tournament. This was supposed to be it. Tiger’s return. But not just yet…

For some time, it was a hopeful thought that Woods would return to the PGA circuit for the U.S. Open, as he had indicated was his intentions roughly a month ago. However, he’s clearly not ready just yet.

The three consecutive shots he put in the water at Congressional a few weeks back while promoting the Quicken Loans (which he hosts) were a pretty clear indication of that, if not anything else.

But hey, who would want to get out there an embarrass themselves in front a national audience? Clearly Eldridge knows he hasn’t regained his form, and although it’s disappointing, you can’t fault him for withdrawing.
