After five-time NBA champ Tim Duncan announced his retirement from the Association after all 19 years with the San Antonio Spurs, The Big Fundamental thought it would only be right to thank the team’s fans.
And he couldn’t have been more respectful and grateful in his emotional letter to the fans, per NBA:
Always a class act, Duncan will be missed—even if he isn’t the superstar that many of us remember him as. And with appreciation from fellow players and rare stories about how he actually tried to help improve the game of his opposition, Tim Duncan proved that he really was a once-in-a-lifetime pro athlete.
