Tim Tebow Records First Hit Of Spring Training, Gets Standing Ovation

TIMMY! ON THE BOARD!!

Tebow recorded his first spring training hit in Monday’s game against the Marlins after going hitless in his first eight at bats in the Grapefruit League. The hit was nulled after he was thrown out on a double play grounder the following batter hit into, but ERRONEOUS!

Tebow’s appearance in the game was a surprise after manager Terry Collins said on Friday there were no plans to bring back Tebow after his second start. But the Mets needed players because of the World Baseball Classic and various split-squad games, so the former Heisman Trophy winner got the nod.

Of course, the many sinners in the crowd gave Tebow a standing ovation for his first hit, in an obvious ploy to get into heaven.

Tebow was getting it done in left field too–making a diving grab that earned a hug from Noah Syndergaard.

Only a matter of time before “MVP!” chants start echoing through the minor league stadiums.
