Here’s Travis Ishikawa’s Homer With The ‘Shot Heard ‘Round The World’ Audio

Travis Ishikawa’s pennant-winning home run yesterday evoked memories of another home run hit for the Giants some 63 years ago by Bobby Thompson. That blast, when both the Giants and Dodgers still called New York home, birthed one of the most memorable radio calls in sports history.

Joe Buck, who is so much better at his job than people give him credit for, re-created the iconic phrase on the Fox Sports broadcast, causing baseball nerds everywhere to get chicken skin.

Within a few short hours, MLB had synced Ishikawa’s blast with the 1951 Russ Hodges audio — a tremendous public service.
