It’s been a couple quiet days so… it’s time to fan the CM Punk in MMA fires!
In case you forgot, CM Punk is going to fight in the UFC. We’ve covered it. Extensively. The long Christmas break ruined the momentum so here comes Cole Miller to remind us that 1) Punk is fighting and 2) he’s not half bad.
Miller spoke to MMA Fighting about Punk since the two train often. Miller had this to say about the straight edge superstar.
“This guy doesn’t just have a chance, he’s gonna kick somebody’s ass. I think he’ll do very well. I don’t think he’s trying to make a 10-year career out of this. But he’s going to shake things up, whoop some ass and prove a lot of people wrong. I expect him to do very well against whoever they put up against him.”
“I think most MMA fighters don’t have any kind of ground. Most of them aren’t good at all. Even in the UFC. There are plenty of exceptions, but when I say most, I mean more than 50 percent are nothing more than OK blue belts on the ground. I would rate CM Punk definitely above that.”
I might have said this before but I’ll say it again right here — there’s a good chance Punk could do well in UFC. First off, he’s worked with other MMA fighters who I’m almost positive would stop him from getting into the octagon if he were that awful. Second, any fighter can beat any other fighter on any given day. One misstep and BOOM! lights out. If the best fighter won every time we wouldn’t watch or give a crap about the sport.
Tune in tomorrow when another UFC fighter calls Punk a pussy because those flames of publicity can’t get high enough.
