Someone Captured TERRIFYING Video Of A BYU Football Player Being Shot In Broad Daylight

According to D Magazine, Charles West is a player Coppell High School in suburban Dallas, Texas. He’s signed to start playing football at Brigham Young University this upcoming year. Today, however, he was shot in the arm by a gunman at a middle school playground while playing basketball. Fortunately, he was taken to the hospital and released, suffering only from a minor wound. But an eye-witness captured terrifying footage of the attempted hit, which was posted online via D Magazine. The magazine also notes this:

It’s the second time this year that West has gotten his name in the papers for activities unfortunately unrelated to sports. In January he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of marijuana during an incident in which he also allegedly solicited sex from a prostitute specializing in foot fetishism and S&M.

The shooting is super messed up. That’s obviously an awful and terrible thing. This country’s obsession with gun violence is clearly an epidemic. But… But…. not to change the subject here — Wait, what? Wasn’t Brandon Davies kicked off BYU’s basketball team just a couple years ago for pre-martial sex, yet West can still play with a charge of “an incident in which he also allegedly solicited sex from a prostitute specializing in foot fetishism and S&M.” How does that work?
