One of the world’s greatest table tennis players, Timo Boll of German, teamed up with the Chinese robotics firm KUKA Robotics to produce this video, promoting a new robotics factory opening in Shanghai.
Boll took on their best table tennis playing robot ever, and while he managed to eke out a victory, watching this video is nothing short of terrifying. Combine this robot’s dexterity with the brain of Watson and we are so fucking fucked. So fucking fucked. It’s been nice knowing you, humanity. I give us—at best—ten more years.
