Somebody Get A Body Bag Because The Yankees Just Murdered The Red Sox On Twitter

The Boston Red Sox made the playoffs this year but made an early exit after losing to the Houston Astros in just 4 games. The Yankees are currently tied 2-2 in the 7-game ALCS series against the Astros with one game left to be played in the Bronx and two more in Houston (if needed).

It’s been 13 years since the Red Sox broke the Curse of the Bambino after coming back from a 3-0 deficit against the Yankees to win the ALCS and go on to win the World Series. The Red Sox took to Twitter yesterday to make a joke about how yesterday’s date in history is pretty much a holiday for the entire city of Boston because it marks the date of Boston’s comeback against the Yankees.

The problem with that joke is that 1) it comes at the expense of the Yankees and opens up the Red Sox to ridicule and 2) the Yankees are still in the playoffs…So, the Bronx Bombers took the opportunity to troll Boston on Twitter with a swift knockout punch. Here’s how it all went down:

If you’re a Red Sox fan/player, does that shade thrown by the Yankees force you to root for the Houston Astros, the very team that just bumped you from the playoffs? Or do you just go about your business and pretend like the baseball season is completely over and the only sports that exist right now are NHL, NBA, and NFL? Boston fans, feel free to respond down below in the comments.
