Adidas Baseball’s New X Routine Icon Trainer Are Inspired By The Seats On Coach Buses

It ain’t every day you hear about a hot new baseball shoe hitting the market. I honestly couldn’t point out the signature shoes of baseball’s biggest stars, but I can tell you the Dada Supreme Spinners were worn by Latrell Sprewell in the 2004 playoffs and will make a return next year.

But, I am an equal opportunity sportsman, and can recognize dope shoes no matter what their utility. And when I came across Adidas Baseball’s new X Routine Icon Trainer, I was reminded how seldom baseball and style culture married.

The trainers, which sell for $100, are based off the 80’s-esque patterns that you see on buses –a sight many major leaguers are accustomed to making their way through the ranks for professional baseball. The name of the pattern: Travel Bus Cammo.

The shoe features a sock-like construction for comfort and fit and the outsole offers extra grip on the base path.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
