Congrats, Brown Bros: Emma Watson is Returning to School

Watson originally enrolled in the school back in 2009, then took time off in 2011 for Hermoine-related responsibilities. She's currently taking a class at NYU, and now needs a few more credits to get a degree. From the Huffington Post:

“I really like the fact that it has a very open curriculum, that there aren’t any requirements,” the “Bling Ring” actress told Rookie magazine last month. “Really, I’ve kind of been in charge of my own education since I started out on 'Potter' when I was 9 or 10, and I liked that I could design my own major if I wanted to, and I could take independent studies if I wanted to on subjects that weren’t necessarily in the curriculum. I did an independent study on the psychology and philosophy of how and why we fall in love, which was awesome.”

“And it attracts a certain type of student,” she continued, “[someone] very independent who wants to take responsibility and control of what they’re learning. That really appealed to me as well.”

Meanwhile, I'd be remiss to not include an utterly incredible story stemming from Watson's first go-around as a Bear. The story, which circulated widely around the Internet a few years ago, goes like this: Watson is a sophomore. She's in a huge psychology lecture. The professor asks a question to the class, and she raises her hand. 250 students look at the school's most famous student. Watson nails the answer.

A dude in the back yells, “10 POINTS FOR GRYFFINDOR.”

Alas, it's apocryphal. Watson was asked in 2010 if the event actually happened, and she said, “No. Actually, I'm really glad that he asked. That has never happened to me. Maybe someone said it under their breath, but I've never, ever had anyone say that when I've been in a class.”

Bummer. Gratuitous GIF time!
