Today’s celebrity words of wisdom…

My dear friend Courtney sharing her experience on such an important issue. RepostBy @courtneyafrica: "Today is World Mental Health Day. There are fewer things I feel as strongly about as anxiety and depression. I had always been an anxious kid but never really thought much of it. Growing up with a sick Mum got bottled up for years. One day in my early 20's I had a panic attack and life has never been the same since. That sounds extremely negative and at times it is and it has been but I am one of the lucky ones. I am rarely afraid to have the conversation. I've got friends, family and a partner that understand my headspace. I work hard at normalising the negative noise that goes on inside ones head. Mental health is dangerous because unlike other illness you can't often see it. When people can see it they also tend to run the other way because of the stigma attached. We are so accepting of other parts of the body breaking down, but not the brain. That to me that is ignorant. Each case is exceptionally unique – the statistics are scary. Your head can be your prison or your paradise. I am not ashamed to say I suffer. I can be very dark. Does it look it from the outside? Probably not. So, on this wonderful day, bringing light to a dark topic – love yourself, look out for yourself and remember facing demons takes strength and is NOT a weakness. #worldmentalhealthday #selflove #strength πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ™‡πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ–€"
