Last Friday was Nation Coffee Day and coffee purveyors across this great nation offered free coffee. Dunkin’ Donuts upped their game on National Coffee Day by unveiling their new beer. That’s right, the coffee and donut giant leaped into the craft beer business by releasing Dunkin’ Punkin’ Brown Ale. Of course, it’s a pumpkin spice-flavored beer.
Dunkin’ Donuts teamed up with craft brewer Catawba Brewing Company located in Morganton, North Carolina for this special collaboration. The pumpkin beer uses actual Dunkin’ Donuts ingredients. But sorry, you can’t roll up to your local Dunkin’ at 9 a.m. for a Boston Cream donut and a pumpkin beer. The beer will be served exclusively at Catawba’s four tasting rooms in North Carolina including Asheville, Biltmore Village, Charlotte, and Morgantown. Catawba only produced 60 kegs of this one-time, small-batch beer. So if you want Dunkin’ Donuts beer you need to high-tail it to North Carolina right now.
“Craft coffee is at the core of our business so we like to brew up something for National Coffee Day that really delights our customers,” Meaghan Duff, Field Marketing Manager of Dunkin’ Donuts in North and South Carolina, said in a statement. “That’s when we hatched an out-of-the-cup idea—combine craft coffee and craft beer—the perfect pair!”
The best part about this project is that $1 from every pint will go to Second Harvest Metrolina, a local food bank in North Carolina.
