Chester Bennington died at 41-years-old on July 20, 2017, but a week before his death the Linkin Park frontman filmed an episode of “Carpool Karaoke.” The Linkin Park episode of the TV spinoff of James Corden’s sketch from “The Late Late Show” has been given the blessing by Bennington’s widow. In August, Corden said it would be up to Talinda Bennington if her late husband’s appearance on “Carpool Karaoke: The Series” would be aired or not.
“We will approach it in whichever manner his family or the people that were involved in that episode, however they would like it to be handled,” Corden said in an interview with AP. “We consider it to be not our decision to make. We will navigate it as delicately as possible and just adhere to whatever wishes they would want, because I don’t think there’s any other way we could deal with it, really. It’s completely up to them and that’s a conversation we haven’t even thought about having right now… It’s a tragedy.”
Talinda did give her blessing on the episode airing and it will premiere next week.
The best part is that the episode will be available to stream on Linkin Park’s Facebook “this time next week.” The episode features Chester and the rest of Linkin Park as well as “Hangover” star Ken Jeong.
