Ever been curious about what people in your state are searching for the most when it comes to Christmas gifts? No? Too bad, because these cool maps will do exactly that and you’re going to find them very interesting.

For example, did you know that from 2012 through 2016, the most common number one gift search for each of the past five years was a laptop, iPhone, tablet, tablet, and iPhone? Yep, we REALLY like our tech gifts, don’t we?

In fact, according to this research done by Treetopia, based on Google Trends data over the last five years, the iPhone ranked as the most searched gift thirty times in a state over the last five years.

Also, curiously enough, there was only one state, New Jersey, that had wine gift basket as its most popular Christmas gift search term and they did it three years in a row from 2012 through 2014. I like your style New Jersey.

On the other end of the spectrum, these maps had me scratching my head a little bit when it comes to Alaska’s most searched Christmas gifts each year. In 2016, it was subscription boxes. In 2015, it was Pokemon. In 2014, they were looking for LeapPads. And in 2012, it was PlayStations. 2012 notwithstanding, could you be more boring, Alaska?

Check out the complete maps for every state’s most searched Christmas gift by year below. (Then ignore all those things and just buy all your stuff here and here. Especially if you are someone’s in-law.)
