Netflix Released A ‘Stranger Things’ Trailer With The Show Re-Imagined As A 1980’s Video Game

We are just a few weeks away from the Stranger Things Season 2 premiere on October 27th. News has begun rolling in about the series in recent days. We now know that we’re going to get a 3rd season, and probably a 4th, but a 5th season of Stranger Things is unlikely.

To hype up the upcoming season of Stranger Things, Netflix has just released this new trailer in which the show is reimagined as a 1980’s style video game. For many, the 80’s and 90’s were the Golden Age of console gaming. It was a time when every mall in America (and the world) had an arcade and those arcades were PACKED full of kids playing games. In season 1, Stranger Things did an unprecedented job of paying homage to 70’s/80’s Sci-Fi films by incorporating elements and nods to the greatest flicks of yesteryear.

I’ll say this now: if we don’t get a Netflix-produced Stranger Things video game when the series is all said and done then it’ll be a mother fucking travesty. It makes all the sense in the world to pair the nostalgia of the show with the nostalgia of 80’s video games.
