50 Cent exploded onto the scene with Get Rich Or Die Tryin’. Then he got rich. Now it’s possible he’s onto the die tryin’ part.
Curtis James Jackson III, the rapper better known as 50 Cent, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday.
In court papers filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Conn., Mr. Jackson reported assets and debts each in the range of $10 million to $50 million.
It’s like his entire career has one big setup for the pun-friendly punchlines. The man literally chose to be known as 50 Cent. He had to know this could be a possibility down the road.
Jackson was recently ordered to pay woman $5 million for posting a sex tape of her online without permission.
Floyd Mayweather will be thrilled by this news as someone who can read reads it to him.
