What happens when you’re down on your financial luck? You double down. Always. That’s the basic gist behind Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler’s hard-R summer comedy The House. The couple are forced to double down after realizing they didn’t save enough money for their daughter’s dream college, forcing them to open an illegal, underground casino. Jason Mantzoukas — a.k.a. “Frank” — takes the reigns on the operation, Vegas-style shenanigans to the quiet suburban neighborhood. Think strip clubs and tactics that would make Nicky Santoro in Casino a proud, proud man.
Now that I’ve seen rubber kitchen shoes being used as a tourniquet, I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to look at the footwear the same ever again.
Hits theaters everywhere on June 30th.
