Sororities Took To Twitter To Express Their OUTRAGE Over Chris Rock’s ‘Sorority Racist’ Oscars Jab
Last night, Chris Rock proved why he is one of the most brilliant comedians alive. The Oscars host minced no words when brilliantly tackling the big white elephant in the room: the lack of diversity in this year’s Oscars class.
The run up to the event received its fair share of backlash, as Will and Jada Smith famously threatened with a boycott (to which Chris Rock so perfectly responded, “Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. You weren’t invited!”) Spike Lee opted to sit courtside at the Knicks game in a Oscar-worthy tuxedo, and Rev. Al Sharpton led an #OscarsSoWhite protest down the street from the Dolby Theatre before the show started.
One of the most hard-hitting quotes of the night when Rock addressed whether or not he thinks Hollywood’s racist.
Is Hollywood racist? You’re damn right Hollywood’s racist. But it isn’t the racist you’ve grown accustomed to. Hollywood is sorority racist. It’s like, “We like you, Rhonda, but you’re not a Kappa.” That’s how Hollywood is.
OH NO HE DIDN’T!
Sorority girls were NOT happy that their girls club was brought into the discussion about race and took to Twitter to say ‘WTF.’
