Back in October, I was lucky enough to make it to every single Dead & Company show at Madison Square Garden. It was easily the musical highlight of my year: I was super bummed about not being able to afford the Dead 50 shows in Chicago and Santa Clara over the summer. As much as I love Trey Anastasio, John Mayer’s bluesy guitar is a perfect fit with the band.
This summer Dead & Co will hit the road again for 18 dates, including stops at Bonnaroo, Citi Field, SPAC, Alpine Valley, Boulder Colorado for 4th of July, and Fenway Park. To hype the tour, last night John Mayer and his newly found friends from the Grateful Dead made their television debut on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.
It makes me go 0-100 on getting hyped for summer shows. It can’t get here soon enough.
