Amazon Introduces A Family Of New Echo Devices And We Want Them All
It must be exhausting to work for Amazon. Every day, there’s huge news. Every damn day. Maybe it’s exciting, I’m not sure, but yesterday Amazon dropped huge news about the Echo at random event in Seattle. They just busted in the door and yelled something like “WE MADE STUFF BETTER AND CHEAPER!!!”
Kinda like that, but classier…
“Today at a surprise event in Seattle, Amazon unveiled five new Echo devices, including two new editions of its now-hallmark product, the voice-enabled Echo speaker.
The baseline Echo will cost $100, which is significantly cheaper than the $180 version currently in stores. The company will also be offering a $150 Echo Plus, which is preprogrammed to be compatible with 100 different devices including smart lights and locks.”
The Echo Plus sounds like a solid purchase, way less expensive than those home systems that cost thousands of dollars just to perform the same functions as a Clapper.
“In addition to its new speakers, Amazon launched a $35 speakerphone, dubbed the Echo Connect, that will allow users to make calls through Alexa with their home phone numbers. There is also a new Echo Button, which can be connected to an Echo via Bluetooth and will let users play games, and the Echo Spot, a round $130 device with a video display that can show clock faces or security camera feeds.”
So how does Amazon make so much money off selling stuff at a discount? Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said that “his company’s goal is not to make money when the devices are sold, but rather when they’re being used.” And we all just went…
All of the products are already available for preorder.
Just by them all and turn your house into Tony Stark’s basement.
