Today seems like as good of a day as any to check out some of the best men’s watches that you can buy right now. A classy wristwatch is one of the easiest and most effective ways to accessorize your daily look. Stylish watches can add fresh life to your tired outfits. I thought I’d throw 5 of the best men’s watches you can buy right now in front of you today for anyone out there thinking about treating themselves to a new timepiece.
The watch industry can be confusing to outsiders. Two watches might look very similar but one could be $200 and the other is $2,000. So many factors determine the price of a watch ranging from the materials used, where the watch was built, automatic vs mechanical (quartz?!?), the reputation of that watch and the manufacturer’s history, the type of Sapphire glass used, and the list goes on and on.
Here we see some of the best watches for men that you can buy right now with quick descriptions of each below the images. You can click any of the links down below to learn more about these watches if you’re interested.
First up on the left is the MWC Watches British Army General Service Watch. This one retails for $232 right now on Huckberry (on sale from $259). The primary selling point of this watch is that it features a historically accurate British Army design that has been made using modern technology. It’s housed in a robust military-grade 316L stainless steel case and powered by a 24 jewel automatic movement. The ‘T’ on the watch face is encircled to maintain historical accuracy here and the canvas strap is very similar to the ones used in the 1940s and 50s by the British Army.
In the middle, we see the Marathon Search and Rescue Medium Diver’s Automatic. This is a 36mm watch that is classified as a ‘Medium’ size for diver’s watches and this is a HUGE plus if you plan on wearing it every day. It’s lighter and more comfortable for all-day wear than your typical diver’s watch. The Marathon Search and Rescue Medium Diver’s Automatic is water resistant up to 300-meters. The tritium is found on the hour and minute hands as well as the hour markers on the dial for illumination (underwater?). This watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement that uses the energy of your swinging wrist to stay juiced up which is brilliant.
On the right we see the Alsta Nautoscaph III ‘Jaws’ Watch in Black which is an updated design on the watch worn by Richard Dreyfuss in JAWS. Only 50 pieces were made so this is a very exclusive timepiece. It is powered by an NH35A automatic movement (24 jewels, 41 hour power reserve, hacking function) and it is water resistant up to 300 meters. The hardened mineral crystal won’t scratch and there is a Super-LumiNova lume on hands and indices so you can always see your watch in lowlight conditions.
On the left, we’ve got the Komrade White Pointer Swiss-Made Automatic which I love. This brilliant watch case is made with a TA2 aerospace-grade titanium which means it is 30% stronger than typical steel and 50% lighter. You can wear this all day without it weighing you down which is EXACTLY what you want in a quality timepiece. The Swiss-made ETA 2836-2 automatic movement consists of 25 jewels and it powers the watch using the motion of your wrist. All you have to do is wear the watch and it stays juiced up. It is water resistant up to 1000-meters which is more than any human being alive would ever need. The Sapphire glass has an anti-reflective coating so you don’t accidentally blind yourself in the sun.
Lastly, we see the Lum-Tec M84 Automatic w/ Bronze Case which comes in Bronze or Black from Lum-Tec, I prefer this Bronze case with the top-grade leather strap and polished buckle. This watch was assembled by hand in Ohio but it is powered by a Swiss-made Sellita SW200 automatic movement. Only 200 of these watches were made worldwide so this is a pretty rare timepiece. The case is made from a solid CuSn8 Bronze and it has a long-lasting 38-hour power reserve.
