The 10 Best-Selling Sneakers Of 2017 Were Dominated By One Company, But The Styles May Surprise
The 10 best-selling sneakers of 2017 were dominated by one company: Nike. Eight of the ten most popular shoes fell under their banner which also includes Air Jordan and Converse.
The Superstar did still remain in the top 10 at number four, however several of the most popular kicks of 2016 like the Air Jordan 12, Nike Roshe Run, Nike Free RN, Nike Air Force 1 Low, and Nike Kyrie 2 were all replaced in the top 10 by other models in 2017.
For the purposes of this list, Sole Collector notes that Powell’s data combines the sneakers by silhouette rather than individual colorway, meaning that those models with multiple iterations have an edge over styles with fewer variations.
According to NPD Group…
Nike/Brand Jordan, Adidas, Skechers, Under Armour, and New Balance were the top-selling brands based on dollar sales in 2017. Adidas was the fastest-growing player in the market overall, growing its sales by over 50 percent. While the list of top 10 selling shoes was dominated by Nike and Brand Jordan, Adidas had two shoes on the list this year – Superstar and Tubular Shadow.
