Everyday Carry: Dopp Kit
So what is a Dopp kit?
Charles Doppelt, a German leather-goods manufacturer, invented the Dopp kit in the early 1900’s. Doppelt was contracted by the US Army during World War II to provide the toiletry pouches for American soldiers serving overseas. Those small pouches, which could be stuffed with razors, shaving cream, combs and everything a man needs for hygienic purposes, became known as Dopps.
Demand for Dopp kits skyrocketed after American soldiers returned home from war.
The modern-day Dopp kit could include any number of EDC items, depending on the length of trip and just how much a guy needs to keep his face game strong, but here’s a rundown of the absolutely essential items to any Dopp kit.
