I wanted to put these unique pieces from Brooklyn-based artist Scott Reinhard on your radar because they are an awesome way to add some style to your man cave or bachelor pad. They are topographic maps which means they use a three-dimensional rendering to show every mountain, river, hill, and crevice accurately.
I know what you might be thinking right now: ‘maps?! Is Cass really talking about ‘cool’ maps right now??’ You’re damn right, I am because these are awesome. There are seven maps in the collection which include some of the artist’s favorite national parks and destinations in America.
I personally own a few maps just like this, not from this same artist, but they’re topographic renderings of The Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York and I can 100% vouch for how awesome these look in person. I get more questions from guests about these maps than any other art in my house and I’ve got some pretty unique pieces. These national park/mountain range topographic maps are going to look sick in your man cave or apartment.
The Scott Reinhard Maps collection includes topographic maps of the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, all of California’s Geology, the State of Illinois, the Grand Tetons, the Rocky Mountain National Park, and Yellowstone National Park.
These are made from mid-1800s and early 1900s USA Geological Surveys (1841, 1900, 1903, etc) Check ’em out:
