Peregrine has been making genuine British clothing for over 225 years. The company first started all the way back in 1796 by Thomas Glover, who was a hand frame knitter or, as they called them back then, a “bag man.”
The family business would go on through the 19th century, but it wasn’t until 20th century the company would start expanding rapidly. In 1901, John George Glover established the business as J. G. Glover & Co Ltd with a substantial investment. The company would make socks for the NAAFI (Navy and Air Force Institutes) and other garments through WWI and the first half of the century.
Donald Glover, the son of John George, would go on to run the company and re-establish the brand as Peregrine 1956. Today, Peregrine makes the same authentic British clothing as they did when they first started. We love this Nautical Sweater as a good introduction piece. It’s woven in a tight Milano stitch with 100% British wool and features two contrasting stripes on the arm for some added color.
Pair this sweater with a pair of khakis and a t-shirt. For the shoes, we’re opting for some classic New Balance 990 sneakers to match the preppy nature of the yellow arm stripes.
