The Associated Press accidentally sent out this disturbing tweet about the Malaysian Airlines flight
The intern running the Associated Press Twitter account was asleep the day they taught commas in English class. That’s the only explanation for this awfully worded tweet that nearly caused an international crisis.
“BREAKING: Dutch military plane carrying bodies from Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crash lands in Eindhoven” is far different than “BREAKING: Dutch military plane carrying bodies from Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crash, lands in Eindhoven.”
At the same moment this was sent out, CNN showed the plane “landing” in Eindhoven.
Kids, let this be a lesson for you. Pay attention in school. Pay lots and lots of attention during English class. You’ll thank me later when the lack of a comma ruins your career.
