High school scores touchdown in most bizarre way imaginable

by 8 years ago

Just your garden variety catch around the back of a defender with a handoff to a teammate for a touchdown. It’s being called the catch of the week in New Jersey high school football but a more apt description would be “holy f-ck, did that just happen?”

Early in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game against Friendship Collegiate Academy, JJ Kulcsar went up, over and around a defender to make a spectacular grab. With the ball attached to the defenders back, his teammate, James Dawson, swooped in and stole the ball for six points.

It’s one of those plays you have to see to believe.

Bergen Catholic went on to beat Friendship Collegiate Academy 48-42 in overtime.

(Was it better than this HS play from earlier in the year? Check it out.)
