Man accused of making love to pet peacock

Some might say “sexual assault” but with a peacock, you can only make love, I say.

Police say David Beckman, 64, kept a pet peacock for the explicit purpose of sexually assaulting it regularly.

Officers found out about the bird’s death while in the middle of an investigation of Beckman allegedly soliciting a child. The police were not specific about details but said there was a correlation between the two incidents.

Police encountered the body of the dead peacock in the man’s garage during their process.

The Illinois man faces charges of cruelty to animals alongside charges of harassment by telephone, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of marijuana possession, attempted indecent solicitation of a child, and two counts of battery.

Point being: David Beckman lived a life.

As of Friday, Beckman was still being held in a county jail on a $10,000 bond.

Given that the primary reason peacocks have the colorful feathers is to find a mate, is it safe to say that the peacock was asking for it? Oh there I go again, peacock blaming.
