Mountain man goes to court for illegal fishing, offers the greatest self-defense in legal history

by 5 years ago

Ernie Wayne Tertelgte is a Montana mountain man who was brought to court for fishing without a license. He got all philosopher John Locke on things and went off about his rights as a man and he basically broke the judge’s brain.

I’m pretty sure that, as a legal professional who’s worked her way up to judge, you probably shouldn’t storm out after getting owned in a battle of wits with a dude who feeds himself by fending for fish at a lake.

The judge ended up setting Tertelgte’s bond at $500 and ordering another court date in January.
