‘Retro City Rampage’ is finally out, and it’s about damn time

by 6 years ago

It seemed as if it would never happen. But finally, Retro City Rampage, the 8bit take on Grand Theft Auto that’s chock full of references and homages to games from both yesteryear and today, is here at last.

So many different different games that are touched upon, that it’s positively head spinning. Everything from the first NES TMNT game (specifically that annoying as hell, underwater level) to Bit.Trip Runner.

At the very least we know one of the reasons why Retro City Rampage was delayed for over a year in the first place. And with so much content flowing from the seams, it appears to be a package that will last a long time too.

RCR is available right this second for the PC, XBLA, and PSN. Personally, I’d much rather wait for the WiiWare version (it’s still coming, we just don’t know when). But the PSN version is tempting because, if you get it for the PS3, you can also play it on the Vita.

A head’s up, for you six people out there who owns one (beside myself).
