Once you buy a new phone, you have a problem: Your old phone. I tend to donate mine to charity, because charities will take anything provided it works. But maybe you hate tax paperwork. In that case, Samsung has a deal for you: cash up front, no questions asked.
The process is ridiculously simple. Buy a qualified Samsung phone (i.e. buy a Samsung Galaxy), fill out a form on Samsung’s Facebook. It doesn’t matter what it is, who it’s from, or what condition it happens to be in: If you fill out the form, they’ll quote you a price.
As you may have guessed, it’s far from the theoretical top dollar, but the reality is selling a used cell phone is a pain in the ass. Either you sell it on eBay and hope you’re actually getting your money, or you sell it on Craigslist and hope you don’t get spammed too much. And you do have to buy a Samsung phone.
But if you’re getting one anyway, it’s a fairly painless way to get your phone out of the house. Of course, it does raise the question of what Samsung is doing with these things, anyway, but hell, it’s only a matter of time before South Korea attacks the world with robots made out of smartphones anyway.
