Shaq is getting his own TV show again, finally

Shaquille O'Neal

What did we do before Shaq had a TV show? I can’t even remember. If it wasn’t enough that Shaquille O’Neal already became the true king of Twitter, now the basketball star turned general man about town is getting his own TV show on TruTV.

Tentatively titled Upload With Shaquille O’Neal, the show is set to follow the Tosh.0 formula, with Shaq “scouring the Internet” for the funniest viral videos and commenting on them, as well as starring in parodies and other original comedy skits. The show will also feature co-hosts Gary Owen and Godfrey, because if there’s one thing Shaq needs it’s sidekicks.

TruTV has been venturing farther into comedic material in recent years with shows like Impractical Jokers, and God knows there’s enough material on the Internet to laugh at forever, but how well do you think Shaq’s new show will do? He’s at his funniest when he’s not trying to be funny and just saying ridiculous things on Twitter. His previous attempts – 2007’s Shaq’s Big Challenge and 2009’s Shaq Vs. – both flopped. Will the third time be the charm for the goofy giant?
