The truth behind Taco Bell’s World Series taco giveaway

by 6 years ago

Taco Bell loves baseball fans, and to show it they are giving a free taco to everyone in America if a player steals a base during World Series. There are a few stipulations you should be aware of though.

It seems like a strange reward. Let’s give people Doritos Locos Tacos, which will make them fat, as a reward for being fast. The official hit of the T-Bell faithful seems like it should be the ground-rule double. Yeah, you might have been able to make it to third, but we know you’re tired so why don’t you just stop at second? Oh, you’re coach will be mad? No worries, we’ll make it a rule that you have to. Problem solved.

Before you get excited about you future taco, you should know that it isn’t as easy as printing off a coupon and crossing the border when it suits you. Nope, that would be too easy and lead to Taco Bell giving away far too much food.

If the first stolen base occurs during Games One through Four, America will get free Doritos® Locos Tacos on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time at all participating Taco Bell locations. If the first stolen base occurs during Games Five through Seven, America can redeem their free tacos on Monday, November 5 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time at all participating Taco Bell locations.

That’s right boys and girls, you have a four hour window to pick up your $1.50 taco. The same four hour window that everyone else in your city does. Get excited to wait in line for 30 minutes to save six quarters! Even if Austin Jackson steals 6 bases in the next game, I won’t be caught dead at Taco Bell that day. You’ll have to make that bold decision for yourself though.
