Serena Williams is the overwhelming favorite for the U.S. Open which kicked off today. For the political-minded folks, the Republican National Convention will be aired all week on PBS. Here’s what else you need to watch.

Republican National Convention @ 8pm, PBS: Day 1 coverage of the convention highlighted by a speech for Senator Rand Paul.

U.S. Open @ 7pm, ESPN2: Roger Federer vs. Donald Young should make for an intriguing first round match-up.

Monday Night Raw @ 8pm, USA: With no MNF scheduled tonight, this is a good alternative.

Chelsea Lately @ 11pm, E!: You should tune in tonight, if only to watch two of the most annoying women in the world. Chelsea Handler and Kirsten Dunst.

Pawn Stars @ 10pm, History: A rare signed item from Shoeless Joe Jackson comes into the shop. No doubt, one of Rick’s “buddies” will look into it.
