A Louisiana district attorney said today that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would not be charged with a crime following last month’s claim by a local college student that he sexually assaulted her at a nightclub. ESPN reports that “Ocmulgee Circuit District Attorney Fred Bright said the 20-year-old student’s accusations could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, and her lawyer said in a letter that she did not want to press charges. ‘Therefore there will be no arrests made nor criminal prosecution against Mr. Roethlisberger,’ Bright said.” In other Steeler-related news, Santonio Holmes was traded to the Jets for a fifth-round pick.
