Will Ferrell Ejected From Minor League Game, Sips Beers on the Mound
So far, Will Ferrell has successfully spoofed NASCAR, basketball, figure skating, and youth soccer. We’re pretty sure a Ferrell minor league baseball movie would be equally hysterical, judging by his brief pitching performance with the Round Rock Express in Austin, Texas. Ferrell took the mound as a relief pitcher for the Express during their game against the Nashville Sound. He made his baseball debut as a character named “Rojo Johnson,” a Venezuela right-hander who has “served time for running a smuggling ring that imported rare and illegal species of reptiles into the United States from South America during the mid-to-late 1990s,” reports CNN.
According to CNN, Ferrell was in Austin to promote a charity golf event called “The Will Powered Golf Classic.” Ferrell was rocking a vintage Wade Boggs-esque mustache and crushing beers before winding up to the first and only batter he faced. He managed to brush the batter back, resulting in an ejection from the game and a jesting scuffle on the field. Two hilarious videos of Ferrell’s pitching performance after the jump.
